Lobbying for Coal Seam Gas Drilling

Coal seam gas companies have enlisted some of Australia's leading conservative lobbyists to put pressure on NSW politicians. Unravelling the complexity of the relationships has been UTS student, Calliste Weitenberg, in collaboration with the Australian Centre for Independent Journalism' Global Environmental Journalism Initiative.

Global Climate: Local Journalisms has now been published

This nineteen country study, edited by Elisabeth Eide (University of Bergen, Norway) and Risto Kunelius (University of Tampere, Finland) examines how two newspapers in each of the 19 countries covered the 2009 Cop 15 conference and finds that an overall pattern emerged in which national domestic perspectives dominated with a heavy reliance on male voices from the Global North.
