Media Arts and Production
UTS are a leading provider of education in moving image, video, sound and convergent media, renowned for the creative talent and award-winning success of its staff, students and graduates. Recent student achievements include 2009 Tropfest winner, with screenings and awards at high-profile festivals around the world including Cannes, the AFIs, IF and AIMIA Awards, Berlinale, Arcipelago, SFF, MIFF, International Emmys and the Academy Awards.
Students in the program can develop professional production portfolios on state-of-the-art equipment, while gaining a critical perspective on media arts and contemporary culture.
UTS: Communication offers outstanding media arts and production graduates from any university the opportunity to pursue advanced work in the area by completing a separate one-year, full-time honours course.
UTS: Communication also offer postgraduate coursework in media arts and production.

Why media arts and production at UTS?
- Lecturing staff are accomplished academics with extensive production experience.
- UTS is renowned in the field for the award-winning creativity and technical ability of its students and graduates. There are opportunities for students interested in specific technical areas such as editing, cinematography, sound or new media to collaborate with other students during the program, building expertise, sharing ideas,and developing show reels that demonstrate their talent and potential.
- Student have the opportunity to enter the UTS Golden Eye awards, a biennial multi award winning and prize-giving event celebrating some of the best work from Media Arts and Production and Master of Animation students.
- Students have access to cutting-edge and regularly updated production facilities and equipment including: purpose-built digital sound studios and editing suites, A vid and Final Cut Pro digital video editing suites, an optical printer, Oxberry animation stands, HD digital video cameras, sound recorders, a radio studio and a television studio/shooting stage, portable lighting and all necessary accessories. Other facilities include a computer lab with Mac Pro workstations running software such as After Effects, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Flash.

- 11th Golden Eye Awards winners' videos: Golden Eye Awards celebrates the work of Media Arts and Production and Master of Animation students.
- No Rhythm City: is an experimental film, representing disorder and boredom in the city.
- Online documentary projects: These projects were created by students of the of Journalism and Media Arts and Production study areas.
- The Narrow Path: A documentary about a north-east Indian matriarch who became the first Christian in her family.
- Picture this: This video is an abstract poetic travelogue that takes the viewer on a sensory and imaginative journey from giant shopping malls to endless landscapes of clouds.
