Read their stories and be inspired about where you can take yours:
Alex George
Now $30 000 richer after winning the Doritos Make an Ad, Make a Fortune national competition, Alex George is certainly making an impression.
Alicia Wood

Alison Page
As one of only a handful of Indigenous interior designers in Australia today, Alison Page was the perfect choice to be a panellist on the ABC ’s New Inventors.
Andrea Myles

Annabelle Van Amerongen
"I was passionate about getting into the UTS design course but my ATAR wasn't high enough to get into design at UTS. When I heard about Insearch and how it offers another chance into university, I took the opportunity without hesitation."
Caitlin Weatherby-Fell
"The UTS (Global Studies) course is more about diplomacy and the broader picture of international relationships. Also, it's incredibly flexible."
Cara Hegarty
It was certainly a trial by fire for Cara Hegarty when she joined international ‘magic circle’ law firm Linklaters in London after graduating with an LLB from UTS.
Christian McMahon
"I’m a sucker for statistics. I looked these up and there was a massive amount of UTS graduates – something like over 85% – who got a job with excellent pay on leaving uni. Those stats increased with postgraduate studies, which is another option I’m considering."
Clary Castrission
Clary started his own not-for-profit organisation called the 40k Home Foundation, which works with disadvantaged communities worldwide.
Danae Byrne
Danae Byrne went to Kunming in China last year, she tells about her experience teaching overseas.
Daniel Sommerville & Adam Brown
When Adam Brown and Daniel Sommerville set out to develop safer and more effective chemical methods for developing fingerprints on paper materials, they didn’t expect to entirely change the way fingerprints are processed.
Edward Makepeace
"I chose UTS for several reasons. It’s very well recognised, its graduates are highly sought after and there are very good facilities. The course itself combines nursing theory subjects with other useful topics like interpersonal interactions. It’s very practice-based too."
Elias Jahshan
"The Special Needs Service (SNS) at UTS was a great help throughout my studies, mostly with note-takers. I’m hearing impaired so this service made attending lectures much easier because I didn’t have to strain to listen and take notes at the same time."
Emma Stewart
The focus on creativity and technology really appealed to me. Also, UTS has an amazing range of communications courses – seven – which means you can go into more depth in the field of communication you’re interested in.
Ester Soyeon Kim
"I went to Beijing for 6 weeks and got to see first-hand how traditional Chinese Medicine was integrated with Western medicine in a large-scale hospital."
Evan Byatt
"Entering the workforce with no industry experience means you’re a bit like a fish out of water – you have no definite idea of what you want to do or what you’re capable of. The work-placement reaffirmed that networking is the area I want to be in."
Jessica Rose Formica
"I've always had a keen interest in problem solving and love the buzz you get when you develop a solution to something."
Jo Garsia
"The nursing lab facilities on campus are really amazing and looked like a great hands-on learning environment."
John Forbes
"Mechatronics is an amalgamation of several different branches of engineering – mechanical, electrical and computer systems. It’s about designing the hardware of machines and robots and dealing with lower level programming."
Jordan Dorjee
"I chose UTS because it's the first and only uni to introduce a course like this. The type of music I was most interested in wasn't covered in any other course or at the Conservatorium of Music (and I probably wouldn't have gotten in with my turntable or tape loops)."
Jordan Nguyen
As part of his major project while enrolled in his undergraduate degree at UTS , Jordan created a semiautonomous wheelchair system that allows severely disabled people to control their chairs using only the power of their minds and some head movement.
